The Heart of Output Management

PLOSSYS® Output Engine

PLOSSYS® Output Engine

The PLOSSYS® Output Engine forms the basis of our output management. All market requirements of the last decades went into this engine, starting with PDM and PLM integrations up to the certified SAP interface. As a special feature, CAD drawings (documents in large format) can also be provided with added information. Thus, the focus lies in the adaptability to special customer and project requirements.

With the PLOSSYS® Output Engine you use the latest software technology – e.g. for operation in the cloud or as a hybrid solution in your data center. The PLOSSYS® Output Engine was developed in a cloud-native approach and relies on operating system-independent technology. This includes micro-services, Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters. Thus, our new engine is not only future-proof, but can also be flexibly adapted to your requirements.

Features & Solutions

The PLOSSYS® Output Engine Provides You with Numerous Modules to Optimize Your Output Processes

Print Client

The SEAL Print Client ("Web-to-Print Software") is a web-based job submission tool that allows your users to send print jobs of any kind to the output management from their workstation or on the road.

You can use documents from various storage locations (such as desktop, file server, SAP repository) and systems (CAD, PLM, PDM, DMS, ECM) without having to roll out additional software. Output is possible for many directly printable graphic formats such as PDF, TIFF or PostScript. However, with additional options, office or drawing formats can also be converted on the fly for output and commissioned for printing.

The Print Client is also part of a whole suite of client tools that SEAL Systems offers on the same technical platform. These can be combined with the Print Client to form an integrated, web-based tool. This allows jobs to be sent to the individual SEAL Systems tools and their results to be processed immediately in the next job - without having to transfer files multiple times. As it is an open platform, other existing third-party systems (such as DMS, ECM, PLM, etc.) can also be connected to the platform to support your specific processes.

Printer Management

With SEAL Systems printer management (easyPRIMA), all connected output systems are maintained in a central database.

The use of easyPRIMA reduces the average time required by administrators to set up, change or delete an output device in any number of systems from several hours to just a few minutes per device.

Administration + Monitoring

Efficiency in IT operations and support processes requires valid key indicators and end-to-end transparency in order to make well-founded decisions. Understandable dashboards support administrators in their decision-making.

Operating statuses, jobs and output systems are therefore permanently in view at all times - visualized in an appealing and meaningful way.

High Availability

Enterprise Output Management from SEAL Systems offers methods for high availability in IT operations and for the provision of output services for the end user.

In addition to the existing high availability, which is based on the innovative solution architecture of the PLOSSYS® Output Engine, specialized tools for load balancing and failover further increase the availability of output services and their IT systems.

Security

Integrated encryption and compression mechanisms in the output management system (such as IPPs, HTTPs, TLS) protect your data from unauthorized access and unwanted viewing throughout the entire processing procedure.

Within the company's own IT infrastructure and also externally, for secure collaboration with external business partners.

Secure & PickUp Printing

With Secure & PickUp Printing, an output job reaches its destination securely. A document or drawing is only printed when the user picks up the printout and authenticates themselves at the device. Printouts left on the printer are a relic of the past.

This reduces your printing costs, as only what your employee needs and picks up is printed. Natural resources are saved sustainably. Above all, however, you also benefit from increased security in the printing process - confidential documents are not accidentally left unattended in the printer, and the transmission from the client to the printer is completely encrypted.

Integrated Conversion

Sending a recently approved CAD drawing together with the SAP order form by e-mail to the supplier? A Word document that has to travel to the recipient as a PDF?

The PLOSSYS® Output Engine processes data and file formats from a wide range of business applications such as ERP (e.g. SAP), Windows and CAx. It generates the appropriate printer code for printing and plotting on paper.

If a digital output channel is selected, the output job is sent to the PLOSSYS® Distribution Engine. It offers additional functions such as the application of stamps and watermarks, the merging of individual documents, automatic zipping of file collections and the generation of ISO-standardized neutral formats (PDF/A diverse level). It also supports the proven distribution procedures of document-based SAP processes from SEAL Systems.

Forms Management
Forms and templates give documents a stringent layout and thus support the perception of your brand in the market. Form management systems offer convenient editors in which text modules, designs, document structures and placeholders can be managed efficiently. They are an economical addition to existing form tools or replace them completely.

We offer you all form services from a single source, from form consulting, development and design to company-wide distribution. Together with our partners MINDFORMS and Cartago Software, we create targeted and individual document processes for your company.

Rule-based Job Distribution

Do you want to use metadata to determine which printer you output to, whether you output duplex or simplex, color or black and white? Well, you've already assigned rules for printing. But wait a minute, these are just output parameters that are set, aren't they? That's right, not much more happens with rule-based printing. Typically, these parameters are defined directly by the user when the print process is triggered.

But what if you are dealing with applications (SAP, host printing, in-house developed solutions) that do not offer such a dialog? Or if you as a company want to override settings of your users to save money and paper (e.g. duplex printing for all users, preset grayscale printing) or to increase security? Here our rule-based job distribution supports you!

Accounting + Controlling

Who requested which print job and when? Which output method is used most frequently? Which IT systems generate the majority of print jobs?

Knowing to what intensity and how output management is used is the basis for decisions about the current and future scope of use. The PLOSSYS® Output Engine from SEAL Systems provides all the important information for this purpose and thus enables in-depth utilization analyses.

The information can be exported to accounting files. Of course, you decide which information is important to you. Only this information is then logged. The information is provided as a CSV file, suitable for importing into Excel or business analytics applications.

This allows you to optimize your output management sustainably and consistently, benefit from complete transparency and conserve natural resources.
